TOP TELEPROMPTER ("the App", package name com.xinyiwe.teleprompter) is a mobile application developed by XinYiwe Co., Ltd. that displays your reading scripts as a floating teleprompter overlay above other apps — such as your camera, YouTube, TikTok, Amazon Live and Instagram Live — so you can read while looking at your audience. The App does not record video or audio.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how it is used.
Overview
TOP TELEPROMPTER processes your content entirely on your device. We do not collect, upload, transmit, or share your scripts or settings to our servers or to any third party. The App contains no advertisements and integrates no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, or precise location (GPS).
Information the App Uses
Scripts and settings you create. The text you write, your presets (font size, line spacing, colors, scroll speed, focus band) and reading progress are stored locally on your device (in the App's private storage / local preferences). They are never uploaded and never leave the device unless you explicitly choose to export a file.
Local Wi-Fi for the second-phone remote. The remote control feature lets a second phone on the same Wi-Fi network start, pause and adjust scrolling. This uses the INTERNET permission to open local sockets, but communication travels only between the two devices on your local network — nothing is sent to our servers or any third party. The App does not read your Wi-Fi name (SSID) or location.
Update check. The App may contact the Google Play Store (via the "upgrader" library) to look up the latest published version number and notify you of updates. This is a one-time version lookup and does not send any personal information.
We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, or precise location, and the App requests no other sensitive device permissions.
Permissions the App Requests
Display over other apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW). Required to show the floating teleprompter above other apps. The overlay shows only the text you provide; it does not capture your screen.
Foreground service & notifications. Used to keep the floating overlay running while you use other apps and to show a persistent notification for that service.
Internet. Used solely for the local-network remote control and the Play Store update check described above; the App makes no other network calls.
Importing and exporting scripts uses the system file picker (Android Storage Access Framework), which does not require broad storage permission and accesses only the files you select.
Data Storage and Retention
All scripts, presets and settings remain on your device only. They are never sent off the device.
You can edit or delete individual scripts and presets at any time from within the App. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data.
No Advertising and No Third-Party Sharing
The App displays no ads.
We do not sell, rent, or share any information with advertisers, analytics providers, or any other third parties.
Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect any information from children. Because no personal data leaves the device, no information of any user — including children — is transmitted to us.
Changes to This Policy
If we introduce new features in the future that involve advertising, analytics, or any data transmission off your device, we will update this Policy accordingly and, where required, request your additional consent before such features are enabled.
